What did my mother do which causes her to love merit accumulation so much and had the chance to make merit with Luang Pu when he was still alive? What deed makes her, at the last period of her life, suffer with blood pressure, rheumatoid, thyroid and makes her tumble so many times that her ankles are no longer strong which obstruct her from coming to the temple? What retribution makes her not to have gum edge which causes her to be unable to wear false teeth, so it is difficult for her to eat and defecate?

She was born in the family that everybody accomplished in their life. Her father is a smart and well-educated people. Her mother has a very high IQ. Her sister always gets the first place of the class. However, she is different and looks like a looser among the winners. Even her marriage did not go smoothly. She has many suffering. Only her grandmother gave her an encouragement. Once her grandmother passed away, she intended to do the merit for her grandmother for one year. Then she will commit suicide. Fortunately, she found DMC before she did that.
At the end of Buddhist Lent a joyful moment comes to the hearts of all Buddhists. It is the time of the very special annual Robe Offering ceremony, called the Kathina.
Every first Sunday of each month and on the days the temple had big ceremonies; and every time I attended the ceremony of offering sustenance to the Lord Buddha and of other big merit of the temple, I made wishes “May I own a house with land and a car.” Later on, my grandfather bought me a car when I did not even ask him for it. And a couple surprised things that happened to me. All my wishes were accomplished. This incident seriously strengthens my faith in merit.
He brutally killed some people which he couldn’t remember the exact amount, but he said it was not that many; that was why death sounded normal to him. After killing people, he would be so proud that he was so splendid.
When my husband was young, he drank and smoked a lot. One day, he coughed and was unconscious. His body was cold and I was frightened. After he regained consciousness, he said to me “Please go to pay respects to Luang Pu and King Rama V.” Later, he was able to quit smoking and drinking. Why did my husband do so after he regained consciousness? What did he see?
A good example of dedicated family, a man who studied major in law and had never believe in Law of Kammar finally changed his opinion after he heard a Dhamma teaching from Ven. Datta. Now, he quitted smoking and drinking and paid more attention on studying Buddhism. He and his wife lost a job during IMF period but now they owned a business. His daughter came to the temple since she was 3 years old and his son also loves to watch DMC.
My brother in law had kidney failure, but he did not want to have treatment because he wanted to save money to make donations for the kathin ceremony at the hometown temple. He said that my sister wanted to make a donation for this kathin ceremony but she died before she could do it. He was afraid that when he wanted to make a donation, he would also die before having the opportunity. Why is it so difficult to make this merit? "You can see that we have to make merit quickly. We should not wait."
